NTM Engineering’s President Donna Newell, PE, CFM, has been named one of our region’s “25 Women of Influence” for 2011 by the Central Penn Business Journal. Ms. Newell was selected as a member of this elite group of women due to her significant career accomplishments, leadership and mentoring skills, and community involvement. An independent panel of judges reviewed the nominations and scored them according to each woman’s professional and personal achievements.
Donna Newell is a principal owner and the president of NTM Engineering, a women-owned business enterprise (WBE) that specializes in water resources, structural engineering, and engineering course development and instruction. She has over 15 years of civil engineering experience, specializes in hydrology and hydraulics, and is a licensed professional engineer in Pennsylvania, New York, and Florida. Donna also served as an adjunct professor for The Pennsylvania State University, and she currently works extensively with PennDOT’s Bureau of Design as a water resources consultant and specialized engineering course developer and instructor.
Since starting NTM in December 2006, Donna’s own technical ability, professional reputation, and management skills have been integral to the company’s early success and growth from three employees to 24, in only four years. The firm is actually prospering through the recession, and Donna and her staff continue to share their knowledge and expand NTM’s technical training to reach more of Pennsylvania’s engineering community.
Donna is also involved in her community, raising money for charities such as the Muscular Dystrophy Association and organizing care packages for our troops in the Middle East. NTM was one of the top 36 Pennsylvania firms honored by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserves with a Seven Seals Award, for the firm’s support.
As a Women of Influence award recipient, Donna will be featured in a video presentation at the Women of Influence event on May 16th and in the May 20th issue of the Central Penn Business Journal.
