NTM Engineering’s Introduction to HEC-RAS training will teach you how to use the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Hydraulic Engineering Center River Analysis System (HEC-RAS) software program. HEC-RAS is an engineering industry standard for modeling steady, gradually-varied, one-dimensional open channel flows.
Our application-oriented training provides lectures along with actual demonstrations and hands-on workshops to introduce you to open channel modeling, culvert and bridge hydraulics, and their applications. NTM will teach you hydraulic analysis procedures for waterway modeling via site assessment, cross-section data collection, hydraulic method selection, output interpretation, and existing and proposed condition comparison.
Topics include:
-
- Hydraulic modeling
- Flow resistance
- Water surface profiles and their geometric data requirements
- Layout cross section locations
- Steady flow
- Developing HEC-RAS models
- Bridge hydraulics and modeling
- Culvert hydraulics and modeling
- Existing and proposed conditions modeling
Requirements: Attendees must bring their own laptop. On the first day of class, each participant will receive a USB drive with HEC-RAS software and workshop files.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made 7 days before the course will be fully refunded. Registrations cancelled within 7 days of the course will receive a 50% reimbursement. No-shows will not receive a refund. Substitutions of another individual are permitted if you are unable to attend.
