Description of Work:
This is a professional position which involves primarily office work with occasional field views. Design work includes performing and reviewing hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) studies, technical writing, waterway permitting, and other activities related to water resources. Projects are varied in complexity and type, including private studies, bridge/culvert replacements, and large highway corridors. The Civil/Water Resource Engineer will be responsible for site investigations, data collection, and hydrologic studies using WMS, HEC-HMS, WinTR-55, stream gage analysis, and regression methods. Other key responsibilities include hydraulic modeling using HEC-RAS, HY-8, SMS, and SWMM; bridge/culvert modeling; bridge scour analysis and countermeasure design; floodplain delineation; and PADEP waterway permit applications. This position will also take task lead and quality control for H&H and permitting deliverables.
Minimum Training and Experience Required:
Qualified candidates must have a BS degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and a Professional Engineering (PE) license. A master’s degree is a plus. Must have four to eight years’ experience. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, CADD programs, and HEC-RAS is required. The applicant must be able to work well in a team and organize and prioritize tasks. Strong work ethic, verbal and written communication, and computer skills are also required for this position.
