To encourage the continued growth of our engineering industry, NTM personnel speak at local public schools on Career Days and at Career Fairs. We participated in the 57th Annual Capital Area Science and Engineering Fair and annually support the Central Pennsylvania Engineers Week Council. Our President, Donna Newell, serves on the Penn State University Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering’s Industrial and Professional Advisory Council and was chair from 2016-2018.
Several of our staff serve in leadership roles in community and/or professional associations. Through Women Transportation Seminar (WTS) of Central PA, NTM employees have assisted in the planning of monthly events for the Transportation YOU club with Girl Scouts in the Heart of PA. Transportation YOU is a hands-on, interactive, mentoring program that offers [young girls] an introduction to a wide variety of transportation careers. NTM has helped progress this program by developing activity ideas, purchasing supplies, and volunteering on the day of the events.
