Under the Bridge Group #43 agreement, NTM was responsible for all roadway and structure tasks, erosion and sediment control, hydrologic and hydraulics and the waterway permit for the SR 4037, Stone Church Road over Salem Creek bridge site in Salem Township. The project replaced an existing single-span stone arch structure with a concrete box culvert on the same horizontal alignment. Due to the history of flooding and homes in the floodplain, NTM performed an alternatives analysis for various structure sizes and coordinated with PA DEP. A 15-foot span was designed to improve site hydraulics, reduce overtopping frequency, and to minimize environmental impacts.
